TBL/Narval fait la une à l’ESA

Le Télescope Bernard Lyot est à l’honneur avec Narval.

L’ESA en fait sa une en lien avec le satellite GAIA. En effet Narval participe activement à la préparation de la mission grâce à sa couverture spectrale unique de 700-1000nm.

C’est l’astronome Caroline Soubiran qui pilote le programme de préparation au sol sur Narval.

First tests of SPIP guiding with its interface

During the nights of April 8 and 9, the initial tests of SPIP guiding with its interface took place at the TBL (Télescope Bernard Lyot). These first tests proved promising. Additionally, some stars were successfully guided in VISION’s mode 3.

New Neo-Narval Fibers

New fibers were installed on June 13th; their performance is identical to that of the old set.Observations have resumed in the usual manner.3.5 months of observation time have been lost. TBL apologizes for this situation.

Since the end of February 2025, the optical fibers linking the polarimeter to the spectrograph have been broken. An attempt to replace them with the spare fibers showed that these were also broken.
